The Breeders Cup at Keeneland is finally here and it feels like one of the most eagerly anticipated meets in years. Some of the biggest names in the sport are here and there’s plenty of interesting storylines to get our teeth stuck in to.
One of the talking points through the year has been the mighty Tiz The Law, who blew the field apart in the Belmont Stakes before going down fighting in the Derby. Bettors are keeping the faith with the three-year-old for this Saturday’s Breeders Cup Classic however. The Classic is the feature race of the two day meeting, with the best of the three-year-olds taking on their elders for the first time in this Grade 1 highlight.
The latest odds (taken from the UK bookmakers) indicate it’s a wide-open race with Tiz The Law and Improbable the joint-favorites at 100/30. Though the bookmakers can’t split the two at the moment, the betting data implies that Tiz The Law is by far the most popular with bettors at the moment. Tiz The Law has taken up 38.61% of total bets on the market in the past 7 days, whereas Improbable is certainly no way near as popular taking up just 3.96% of bets. If this behaviour continues over the next few days you can expect Tiz to open up as the short priced favorite on the morning line on Saturday.
