Our handicappers have studied the races at Churchill and provide their picks on Thursday's card. For more in-depth analysis, make sure to check out Matt Bernier's expert picks on today's racing. He's operating at a 21% win rate in 2020 and that's at average odds of 7.8/1!
Race 1
Selection: Tequila Queen – It’s hard to bet against Wesley Ward in these type of races and you can expect Tequila Queen to be ready to go. Expect her to go wire-to-wire after looking good in the mornings
Longshot: Cool Enough – Has been impressing in morning workouts and could be a big danger if she knows enough on debut
Race 3
Selection: Gypsy Wife – She has been running in better quality races than this and both runs have shown promise. Albert Stall has a 17% strike rate in 47 starts in maiden claiming company.
Race 4
Selection: Summer Revolution – The pick makes her debut for the Diodoro barn today and can go back-to-back in a winnable race. Summer Revolution beat Junior Gilliam easily by three lengths last time out at Oaklawn over six and shouldn’t have any problem with the step up in distance.
Race 5
Selection: Feeling It – The key to Feeling It’s chances today is his early speed and burning off his rivals early on. He can go wire-to-wire and put a disappointing run behind him last time.
Longshot: Vineyard – Vineyard would have been the selection today if it wasn’t for the worry about the long layoff as he’s shown in the past that a race like this is well within his compass. Watch the market.
Race 7
Selection: Dalika – The clear class act in this race if ready to roll on seasonal debut. Dalika was only narrowly beaten in a Grade 2 back in November and if fit enough she’ll take this.
Race 8
Selection: Addison – The selection has been running well this season and it’s predicted that this drop in grade can see her back on the winner’s podium. Conditions suit perfectly.
Race 10
Selection: Flashing Red – There’s no getting away from the fact that Flashing Red was progressive for Christophe Clement and if Wayne Catalano can continue that progression she’ll be tough to beat here.
Longshot: She’s A Deal – It’s easy to pass on She’s A Deal here after a poor run last time, but there’s no denying she showed promise on debut and is feared if returning to that level.
