Delaware Park - Free Racing Picks on Monday, August 17

Carl Nicholson previews the card at Delaware Park on Monday. He's got three picks to start your week off right!

RACE OF THE DAY RACE 5 – PICK DIG CHARLIE DIG

CAM’S CARTER has won two of his three starts so far in his career and there was plenty to like about the way he put away his rivals last time out at Laurel and has the added benefit of the assistance of a very good claimer. KEVIN WITTE has a similar profile of two wins from three starts, the last one at this venue, has to improve a little on that bare form, but it’s certainly not out of the question. DIG CHARLIE DIG gets a barn switch after being asked to do far too much too soon last time out. This 6 year old has some very decent back form and is not one to discount at all. TALENTED SON could do the best of the outsiders given he is on the class drop.

A tricky puzzle, but I think DIG CHARLIE DIG might be able to make the back class tell and get a victory first time up for new connections.

RACE 2

SAPPHIRE SHILLING finds himself at the basement level and if he is going to get back to winning ways he must go very well against this field of low level performers.

RACE 7

MILITIAMAN was well beaten when returning to action a couple of months ago, but that was on a sloppy track and it did not suit at all. Back on more conventional going he brings some very strong form into this from last season and can get back to winning ways once again.
