Fort Erie Racing Picks on Tuesday, August 18

Carl Nicholson previews the card at Fort Erie on Tuesday:

RACE OF THE DAY RACE 7 – PICK: AUNTIE KATHERINE

This looks a tight Stakes contest with a few seemingly in with a good chance. The first one on the list has to be AUNTIE KATHERINE who is a rock solid performer at this sort of level. She was outclassed at Woodbine last time out, but back at the right level today and at a track she runs well. CAPOEIRA is another dropping back in class and has some good back form, but she was beaten fair and square by AUNTIE KATHERINE when they last met. LIL’S TURN has been in consistent form of late, but looks to need a significant step forward on form to trouble the first two I have mentioned. GYPSY JAZZ got off the mark for the season with her best run so far and could sneak a place at decent odds.

This looks a very good opportunity for AUNTIE KATHERINE, she hold a verdict over the likely danger and the rest look to have something to find on form.

OTHER RACES

RACE 5

CAPTURE THE MUSIC was tried in much better class last time out after a convincing win at today’s level. That did not work out and back at the high level again he can get back to winning ways.

RACE 9

ROGUE AFFAIR is sure to be poplar after making a winning debut, but I like the chances of PRECIOUS BRIDGE who did not get the breaks last time out and has some very good back form in the book and this son of Badge Of Silver can gain a deserved win.
