Gulfstream Picks - Saturday May 23

Race 1

Selection: Limetini – Limetini looks the play given the unexposed nature of the runs so far with Oxburger & Budget Buster likely to be strong challenges .

Cardiac Kid has been runner up twice in a few goes at breaking the maiden, and is likely to run well again but does not seem to be progressing. Limetini improved off the debut run with a solid 3rd last time out and with blinkers applied could take another step forward for top barn. Budget Buster is another that's had plenty of chances and is looking a bit exposed, but comes from a top barn and a strong challenge looks assured. Oxburger has been running on the main track for recent efforts and looks interesting now trying grass and is worth considering.

Race 2

Selection: Wiltshire Diamond – Money House looks interesting going up in trip, but Wiltshire Diamond coming from a top barn could be the one to be with.

Wiltshire Diamond has the first start for the Maker barn today and from a good gate post looks a strong challenger in this field. Macho D’Oro took a step in the right direction, showing the best form of the career when runner up last time out. Question is, can that be backed up? Captain Fofo is a consistent type, placing 5 times in total so far and can be forgiven an average effort last time out. Money House goes up in trip and that could bring about a bit of improvement and is interesting on that angle.

Race 3

Selection: Well Brush Mytooth – Well Brush Mytooth looks a class apart on the figures, with Smitten For Smitty likely to be the strongest challenge.

A tight little race which should concern just 3 runners. Let’s be Honest has been running well this season and capped off another good run with a runner-up spot last time out. Well Brush Mytooth drops out of stakes company and ought to be tough to beat in this grade. Smitten For Smitty is another class dropper and ought to be battling it out at the business end

Race 9

Selection: Malibu Max – Malibu Max should get off the mark for the Pletcher outfit.

Malibu Max is having the first run for the top barn of Todd Pletcher today and on a class drop as well, should be very tough to beat. Front Loaded has won plenty, has been runner up a few times so far this season and should be the main competition to the Pletcher runner. Examiner is consistent enough and is one to throw into the place mix .
