Saratoga Racing Picks on Thursday September 3

Carl Nicholson previews the card at Saratoga on Thursday:

RACE OF THE DAY RACE 6 – PICK: THE IMPORTANT ONE

OFFICER HUTCHY scored last time out for previous connection & definitely has possibilities to start scoring first time up for the new barn. SPIN A YARN is unbeaten so far, she has been beating trees for the most part, but no denying she has plenty of ability & is likely to take a strong hand in the outcome. BIG Q has run in two strong looking races the last to visits to the track and may be this looks a little weaker than those races and she looks interesting. THE IMPORTANT ONE has won 2 out of her four races so far & the barn do well with their runners at this track of late.

BIG Q has some decent form to her name, but I get the impression THE IMPORTANT ONE could be open to more improvement now back on the dirt after a poor run on turf last time out and is my selection.

OTHER RACES

RACE 7

KITTEN BY THE SEA looks a big player now dropped in grade & with rest being much of a muchness when it comes to progression, she might take the beating.

RACE 8

FAIR REGIS has hit the bar twice on the bounce, but looks to only have PALACE AVENGER to beat & that one looked a bit flattered to score last time.

RACE 9

FOXTAIL looks to have been found a penalty kick to get another win in the bank. This daughter of Mizzen Mast looks a cut above this opposition.
