Saratoga Racing Picks on Wednesday September 2
Carl Nicholson previews the card at Saratoga on Wednesday:
There are plenty of good quality-bred juveniles going to post for this Stakes contest & it should pay to keep an eye for future clues too. AMERICAN MONARCH won first time up over this track & trip and certainly looks to have bright future, and we know he will stay the trip. BLAME THE BOOZE bolted up on debut, beating a more fancied stable mate but that was on a sloppy track & over 6f, so some questions to answer for me. FIRE AT WILL was behind AMERICAN MONARCH on debut, but did show promise and will be sharper and wiser this time. NATHAN DETROIT is another winning debutant who did the job well and is not one to discount.
AMERCIAN MONARCH looks to have the leading credentials to win this. BLAME THE BOOZE is the main danger on paper but with doubts about the race conditions today, NATHAN DETROIT could be the one for the forecast.
TWELFTH LABOUR looks an intriguing runner first up off the claim for the Maker barn. This gelding has gone a while since winning, but is versatile trip wise & this does looks a slight drop in grade.
VOTING AGREEMENT has been found a winnable opportunity in this type of grade and should make the most of it.
MINI P had been off the track for nearly two years prior to an encouraging return to action a couple of months ago. That looks a decent piece of form and given time to get over it could be ready to strike this time.
