Carl Nicholson takes us through his selections for Saturday's meet at Santa Anita.

RACE OF THE DAY RACE 9

WARREN'S SHOWTIME knows how to win at this level and there have been some good runs this season with plenty of placings and wins. NASTY goes first time off the claim for a new barn, she was disappointing last time out but had won two back to back previously, it looks hard to get a handle on as it seems you get all or nothing with her. CROUGHAVOUKE at Del Mar when last season in August, that was her best form of the season and could well continue that with a very good run in this. GUITTY drops in class and that could be an angle into her chances today.

WARREN'S SHOWTIME looks to hold strong credentials in this company after a very good run in a Grade 1 last time out.

OTHER RACES

RACE 3

SOLITAIRE is the only runner in this field with any pretensions to be better than they have shown so far. She has won 2 and been runner up on her only 3 runs and must be a leading player.

RACE 5

INVINCIBELLA has some back form that would see her go close in this type of grade and looks worth chancing at a fair enough price.

RACE 7

FACTORIAL showed her best form of the season last time out and looks interesting on the back of that effort.

RACE 10

SAVING SOPHIE won’t get any better opportunities to break the maiden having hit the crossbar the last twice.
